About XMPro and what agentic-first means for this role

XMPro helps industrial organizations improve how they operate by connecting real-time operational data, digital twins, advanced analytics and AI with the people and processes responsible for making operational decisions.

Our technology is used in asset-intensive and process-intensive environments where productivity, quality, reliability, safety and operational performance matter. XMPro brings together operational data, digital twins, machine learning, AI and intelligent decision support to help organizations understand what is happening, determine what is likely to happen next, and take better action.

As our customers mature in their use of digital twins and AI, many are moving toward agentic operations: operational environments where AI agents can continuously interpret context, evaluate conditions, recommend or coordinate actions, and support increasingly autonomous decision-making within appropriate human, engineering and governance controls.

XMPro is also an agentic-first company in how we work. We expect our people to use modern AI and LLM capabilities thoughtfully and practically to increase the speed, quality and scalability of their work. For this role, that means using AI not simply as a subject to teach, but as part of the way the training and enablement function itself operates.

We are therefore looking for an experienced Technical Training & Enablement Lead who can build and lead XMPro’s customer and partner technical enablement capability while making intelligent use of LLMs, AI assistants and agentic workflows throughout the learning lifecycle.

The role

This role owns the development and delivery of a structured technical training and certification program for XMPro customers and partners.

You will design the curriculum, determine learning pathways for different types of users, coordinate the capture of knowledge from XMPro subject matter experts, turn that knowledge into high-quality learning content, and help establish the systems and processes required to deliver training and certification at scale.

You will also be a practitioner. This is not a role where the curriculum is simply handed to you to deliver. You will be expected to understand the XMPro platform deeply enough to teach it confidently, demonstrate it, answer technical questions, guide hands-on exercises and help customers and partners develop real competence.

You will also be expected to use LLMs and AI extensively in the execution of the role, including content development, knowledge capture, curriculum design, assessment creation, content maintenance, learner support and training operations.

The objective is simple: help customers and partners become capable, confident and increasingly self-sufficient XMPro practitioners.

The role combines

  • Curriculum strategy
  • Instructional design
  • Technical content development
  • SME coordination
  • AI-assisted content and knowledge workflows
  • Learning platform and certification design
  • Training operations
  • Hands-on technical instruction
  • Partner enablement
  • Continuous improvement

Design the XMPro learning curriculum

You will design and maintain a structured curriculum covering the skills required to successfully use and implement XMPro.

  • Defining learning pathways for different audiences and roles.
  • Establishing foundation, intermediate and advanced learning levels.
  • Designing learning journeys for customers, partners, consultants, developers and administrators.
  • Identifying prerequisite knowledge for different courses.
  • Defining clear learning objectives and measurable outcomes.
  • Determining the appropriate balance between conceptual learning, demonstrations and hands-on exercises.
  • Ensuring learning content reflects realistic industrial and operational use cases.
  • Using LLMs and AI tools to accelerate curriculum design, structure learning pathways and identify gaps or inconsistencies in learning content.

Build certification pathways

You will help design and establish a formal XMPro certification framework. This may include certifications for areas such as XMPro fundamentals, solution development, Data Stream Designer, digital twins and contextualization, application development, AI and analytics, agentic solutions, platform administration, solution architecture and partner implementation capability. You will help define:

  • Certification levels
  • Required competencies
  • Assessment methodologies
  • Practical exercises
  • Exams and knowledge checks
  • Recertification requirements
  • Certification governance
  • Partner competency requirements

Meaningful certification

You will use AI-assisted techniques where appropriate to help generate, review, vary and maintain assessment content, while ensuring all certification outcomes remain technically valid and properly governed.

Our goal is not simply to certify that someone has watched training. Certification should provide meaningful evidence that the participant can apply XMPro effectively.

Capture knowledge from XMPro subject matter experts

Much of the knowledge required to build a strong training program already exists within XMPro’s product, engineering, consulting and solution teams. Your role will be to systematically capture that knowledge and turn it into effective learning material.

  • Work with Product Managers, Solution Consultants, Engineers and other SMEs.
  • Identify the right experts for specific learning topics.
  • Plan and coordinate content capture sessions.
  • Interview SMEs and extract the practical knowledge required by learners.
  • Help SMEs structure their knowledge for a training audience.
  • Record demonstrations and technical walkthroughs where appropriate.
  • Use LLMs and AI tools to summarize SME sessions, extract concepts, create structured drafts and identify unanswered questions.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear learning material.
  • Validate AI-generated or AI-assisted content against source material and SME intent.
  • Manage content review and approval.
  • Establish repeatable processes so that new product capabilities can quickly be incorporated into the curriculum.

Develop technical training content

You will direct and contribute to the creation of training materials including instructor-led course material, self-paced digital learning, technical demonstrations, hands-on labs, exercises, workshops, videos, product walkthroughs, learning guides, quick-reference materials, assessments and quizzes, certification exams, instructor guides and partner enablement material. You will use modern AI tools extensively to improve the speed and quality of content production. This may include using LLMs to:

  • Draft and restructure learning material.
  • Convert SME knowledge into different learning formats.
  • Create exercises, scenarios and assessment questions.
  • Generate role-specific variants of training content.
  • Summarize technical source material.
  • Maintain consistency across large content sets.
  • Identify outdated or conflicting material.
  • Create first-pass learner support content.
  • Assist with video scripting and supporting materials.

Own the content production process

AI-generated content must always be reviewed for technical accuracy, instructional quality and alignment with XMPro standards.

You do not need to personally create every asset. A key part of the role is establishing the content production process and coordinating SMEs, instructional designers, video/content producers and other contributors where required. However, you should be capable of creating and editing technical learning material yourself.

Build the training delivery system

You will help XMPro establish a scalable training and certification environment. This may include selecting, configuring or managing a Learning Management System or training platform capable of supporting customer learning, partner learning, self-paced courses, instructor-led training, virtual classrooms, learning pathways, assessments, certification, learner progress tracking, reporting, content versioning, recertification, digital credentials or badges, and AI-assisted learner support. You will also help identify opportunities to introduce AI and agentic capabilities into training operations, for example:

  • Automated learner assistance.
  • Intelligent content search.
  • Adaptive learning pathways.
  • Automated content maintenance workflows.
  • Knowledge agents.
  • Certification administration support.
  • Learning analytics and intervention recommendations.

Deliver technical training

You will personally deliver XMPro technical training to customers and partners. Training may be delivered remotely, in person, through structured courses, through workshops, as part of customer projects, through partner enablement programs, and at XMPro or industry events.

You should be comfortable presenting to groups with different levels of technical experience and adapting your approach to the audience. You will need to explain not only how XMPro works, but also why particular approaches are used. Participants should leave your training able to apply the platform to real problems rather than simply repeat a sequence of product steps.

Create hands-on learning experiences

XMPro is a technical platform, so practical learning will be central to the curriculum. You will design training exercises that allow learners to build realistic solutions involving areas such as:

  • Operational data
  • Data streams
  • Industrial data sources
  • Digital twins
  • Contextualization
  • Events and conditions
  • Analytics
  • Machine learning and AI
  • Recommendations and decision support
  • Applications and visualization
  • Agentic workflows
  • Integration with enterprise and operational systems

Enable XMPro partners

You will ensure labs are repeatable, maintainable and suitable for use across multiple training cohorts. Where appropriate, you will also design learning experiences that teach customers and partners how to use LLMs and agentic capabilities responsibly and effectively in the context of XMPro solutions. Partners are an important audience for this role — you will help them develop the technical capability required to successfully position, implement and support XMPro solutions through:

  • Partner onboarding
  • Structured partner learning paths
  • Technical workshops
  • Train-the-trainer programs
  • Certification
  • Implementation competency development
  • Ongoing technical enablement

Maintain training as the product evolves

Over time, successful partners should be capable of delivering XMPro solutions increasingly independently. XMPro continues to evolve rapidly, particularly in areas such as industrial AI, digital twins and agentic operations, so training content must evolve with the product. You will establish AI-assisted and human-governed processes for:

  • Identifying product changes that affect training.
  • Updating course material.
  • Retiring obsolete material.
  • Maintaining lab environments.
  • Updating assessments.
  • Communicating changes to instructors and partners.
  • Identifying inconsistencies between product documentation and training content.
  • Maintaining consistency between documentation, training and product behavior.

Measure training effectiveness

Training should be treated as a product in its own right, with clear ownership, release management and quality standards.

Success will be measured by learner capability, not simply course attendance. You will establish metrics covering areas such as:

  • Training completion
  • Certification rates
  • Assessment performance
  • Learner satisfaction
  • Time to competency
  • Partner capability
  • Customer self-sufficiency
  • Reduction in repeated support or enablement requirements
  • Adoption of XMPro capabilities following training

The background we are looking for

You will use feedback, learner data and AI-assisted analysis to continuously improve the curriculum and identify where learners need additional support.

We are looking for someone who combines technical aptitude, strong teaching capability and practical fluency with modern AI tools. You may have come from a background such as Technical Trainer, Technical Enablement Lead, Customer Education Manager, Learning Experience Designer, Solutions Consultant, Technical Consultant, Product Trainer, Partner Enablement Manager, Technical Instructional Designer, or Developer / technical educator.

The precise job title you have held previously is less important than your ability to understand complex technology and turn it into effective learning experiences.

Technical & AI capability

You do not need to be a software developer, but you must be technically capable and comfortable learning a sophisticated industrial software platform. You must also be a competent and confident user of modern LLM and AI tools. This includes practical experience using AI to improve knowledge work, such as:

  • Research and synthesis
  • Technical writing
  • Content generation
  • Content transformation
  • Knowledge extraction
  • Prompt design
  • Structured information generation
  • Assessment development
  • Workflow automation
  • AI-assisted analysis
  • Agentic workflows

Not just occasional AI use

We are not looking for someone who has merely experimented occasionally with a chatbot. The successful candidate should already think naturally about how AI can improve the speed, quality, consistency and scalability of their work.

Experience with some of the following would also be valuable: SaaS or enterprise software platforms, industrial software, IoT, digital twins, data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, Generative AI, agentic AI, data integration, cloud platforms, operational technology, and manufacturing or industrial environments.

You should be comfortable configuring software, working through technical exercises, troubleshooting learner problems and learning new technical concepts quickly. Some experience with Python, APIs, SQL, data analytics or similar technical tools would be advantageous but is not necessarily required.

Training & instructional design capability

You should have demonstrated experience in several of the following:

  • Curriculum development
  • Instructional design
  • Adult learning
  • Technical training
  • Customer education
  • Partner enablement
  • Certification program design
  • Learning Management Systems
  • Online learning
  • Instructor-led training
  • Virtual classroom delivery
  • Hands-on lab design
  • Technical content development
  • Video learning
  • Assessment design
  • Train-the-trainer programs

Personal attributes

Experience building a training program or technical academy from an early stage would be particularly valuable. This role will suit someone who is:

  • Curious and technically minded
  • A strong communicator
  • Comfortable working with technical experts
  • Highly organized
  • Able to drive work across multiple contributors
  • Pragmatic
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Willing to take ownership
  • A quick learner
  • Detail oriented without losing sight of the overall outcome
  • Comfortable presenting to groups
  • Patient when helping others learn
  • Focused on learner outcomes rather than simply producing content
  • Proactive in identifying where AI can improve a workflow
  • Willing to experiment with new AI tools while applying sound judgment and validation

What success looks like

You should have the confidence to say to a subject matter expert: “I understand what you’re saying technically; now let’s work out how we teach it, and where AI can help us do that better and faster.”

Within this role, success means XMPro moves from knowledge residing primarily within individual experts toward a repeatable, AI-enabled and scalable enablement model. Customers and partners should know what they need to learn, where to find the learning, what sequence to follow, how to practice, how to demonstrate competency, what certification means, and how to continue developing their skills.

XMPro should be able to onboard customers and partners faster, develop implementation capability at scale, and progressively reduce dependency on a small number of internal experts for routine enablement. The enablement function itself should demonstrate XMPro’s agentic-first philosophy by using AI intelligently throughout content creation, knowledge management, learner support and operational workflows.

The successful person will ultimately have created more than a collection of training courses. They will have built an AI-enabled XMPro learning ecosystem.
