Run Industrial Operations Inside Claude With XMPro (Safely)

Running a single operational decision in industry often means jumping between dashboards, alarms, CMMS, schedulers, and approval workflows. The intelligence exists. The systems exist. What’s missing is a safe way to connect them — without losing control. In this walkthrough, we show how Claude (Anthropic) can be used as an AI workspace to participate in real industrial operations using XMPro Data Streams exposed via MCP (Model Context Protocol). The demo uses Claude Desktop / Claude Cowork, but the approach applies to any AI assistant that supports MCP. From inside a single Claude conversation, an operator can deliberately engage live operational systems to: Access real-time industrial sensor data Understand asset health and operational risk Coordinate maintenance, logistics, and energy decisions Approve work and assign technicians Confirm execution once systems of record acknowledge the change All without switching dashboards, tickets, or tools. This is not uncontrolled automation. XMPro enforces bounded autonomy by separating intent from execution. Claude can assist with reasoning, coordination, and carrying approvals forward — but actions only execute through authorised, constrained, and auditable XMPro Data Streams, and only after explicit approval and confirmation by the underlying systems. Nothing happens because an AI inferred it should. Execution occurs only within predefined autonomy boundaries and approved operational scopes.
